Stress Management
Key Conditions:
- anxiety,
- panic attacks,
- life transitions,
| A key component to health
is managing stress in our everyday lives. Stress is
said to be responsible for up to 85% of all disease,
since it is debilitates the body, as well as our emotional
and mental life. While it is inevitable that we will
encounter stressful circumstances, our response to
stress is something we can modify. |

The word stress defines a broad territory, from general
background irritation to panic attacks, and while these
may seem unrelated, the biological mechanism behind them
is the same. Our body responds to stress (this includes
physical danger and frightening situations) as an autonomic
(automatic) function that cannot be controlled by the conscious
mind. It is after the immediate event that the conscious
mind can assess as situation and recognize that no danger
or harm is present. Yet our body may not be able to turn
off its autonomic response, our nervous system has become
calibrated to a baseline level of activation that literally
keeps us in a constant alert mode.
In practical terms this means
that circumstances that in the past would have been
difficult or impossible to face become manageable,
and minor stress does not leave a lasting impact
on your life.

Biodynamic Bodywork
provides direct access to the autonomic functions
of the nervous system, providing the ability to reset
the autonomic system to an appropriate baseline of
function. In practical terms this means that circumstances
that in the past would have been difficult or impossible
to face become manageable, and minor stress does not
leave a lasting impact on your life. |
Along with the changes that bodywork initiates, I provide
simple exercises that will support the work and give you
the ability to maintain and deepen your experience of stress-free
living. Through this approach, you will gain greater
resiliency in the face of life’s stressors and you
will be able to again enjoy your family, your work and your
play.
Health is not merely of the body.
It is the natural expression of the body, mind and soul
when they are in rhythm with the One Life. True health
is the harmony of life within us, consisting of peace
of mind, happiness and well-being. It is not merely a
question of physical fitness, but is rather a result of
the soul finding free expression through the mind and
body of that individual.
